The Environmental Protection Agency’s Al Armendariz has resigned after incriminating two-year old footage was leaked last week. Armendariz – whom the AP described as the “Obama administration’s top environmental official in the oil-rich South Central region” – delivered his formal resignation letter to EPA head Lisa Jackson.
In the letter, Armendariz said the following:
“As I have expressed publicly, and to you directly, I regret comments I made several years ago that do not in any way reflect my work as regional administrator. As importantly, they do not represent the work you have overseen as EPA administrator,” he wrote. “I take great pride in having built a career based on integrity and hard work. These are the principles that guide me personally as well. While I feel there is much work that remains to be done for the people of this country in the region that I serve, after a great deal of thought and careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that my continued service will distract you and the agency from its important work.”
Here is what got Armendariz in hot water originally:
For those of you who believe that global unrest is key to reshaping the political, social and economic structures in Europe, the U.S. and elsewhere – you are mistaken. Raging against the “machine” is not only a misguided philosophy, it’s idiotic. Capitalism and free markets are not the reason the world is facing the problems it is today. Crony capitalism is what ails the world – a long with a host of accomplices. Chief among them are big, bloated governments here in the U.S. and across the pond. Continue Reading
Many of you – Bill O’ Reilly included – may have thought we had seen the last of the Occupy movement after it fizzled out over the winter. Not so fast. It’s time to break out the Dove soap bars and Old Spice deodorant because tomorrow plans to be a migraine-inducing day – courtesy of your favorite Marxist/socialist/anarchists – and enviro-fascists too.
New York, Denver, Seattle and other major cities are bracing for what should be an eventful day. Just in case you wanted to pull the kids out of school and participate in the festivities, here’s a peek at what’s planned just in the Big Apple: Continue Reading
From the New York Daily News:
Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger reports that a woman starved to death after embarking on a spiritual diet that required her to stop eating or drinking and live off sunlight alone.
The Zurich newspaper reported Wednesday that the unnamed Swiss woman in her fifties decided to follow the radical fast in 2010 after viewing an Austrian documentary about an Indian guru who claims to have lived this way for 70 years.
Tages-Anzeiger says there have been similar cases of self-starvation in Germany, Britain and Australia.
The prosecutors’ office in the Swiss canton (state) of Aargau confirmed Wednesday that the woman died in January 2011 in the town of Wolfhalden in eastern Switzerland.
As reported by Judicial Watch, Michelle Obama’s 2010 trip to Spain cost taxpayers roughly $467,585 according to official documents from the Air Force and Secret Service. With our booming economy, I’m sure you know plenty of people affording themselves half-a-million dollar vacations these days.
Apparently, Camp David reminds the Obamas too much of George W. Bush.
