If last night’s election results are indicative of an electoral tipping point in this country, then we are staring at a bad omen. Last night’s unfolding of events gives credence to the notion that this republic now has a voting majority that is willing to opt out with regard to individual sovereignty and opt in for the care-taking collective. For those of you who believe that global unrest is key to reshaping the political, social and economic structures in Europe, the U.S. and elsewhere – you are mistaken. Raging against the “machine” is not only a misguided philosophy, it’s idiotic. Capitalism and free markets are not the reason the world is facing the problems it is today.
